Thus, when designing the product with O-rings, the compression set of each rubber must be taken into consideration, furthermore, to get a best size of O-rings.

The second thing have to determine is that the property of rubber. What kind of environment the O-ring might face varies. For example, O-rings might happen to contact with acid, alkali, oil, water, special gas, food, medical materials etc. This must be clarified before making an O-ring in order to have a long-term seal.

The most common way to describe an O-ring: Inner Diameter * Diameter (d1*d2).
