Shower filters provide several benefits such as chlorine removal, reduction of soap scum, prevention of dry skin and hair and the removal of unpleasant odors. Many shower filters help balance water ph for better sudsing and cleaning and remove synthetic chemicals in the water that can vaporize and be inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Even if you have un-chlorinated well water, there are benefits to using a shower filter in your home. The elimination of chlorine and chemicals from your shower water is as important as the removal of these contaminants from your drinking water. Some of the reasons for reducing chlorine and synthetic chemicals levels in your shower water include:
Chlorine bonds to skin and hair destroying the natural bacterial balance. This may lead to dryness, itching, flaking and premature skin aging.
Chlorine gas, chlorine by-products such as Trihalomethanes (THM’s), chloroform and many synthetic chemicals may become vaporized in hot shower water and become a concentrated area for toxic gases. You are consistently inhaling these gases with regular shower activity and this may pose a long term health risk.

There are primarily two types of media used for shower filters:
1. Nano-KDF (Nano-metal clusters media)
2. Granular-Activated Carbon
   Our shower filters use Nano-KDF media as the primary filtration media for Chlorine removal.
Nano-metal clusters media (Nano-KDF) is a novel water purification media with high specific surface and porosity more than 100 times of KDF media. It can simultaneously remove soluble heavy metal ions such as Pb2+, Cd2+, Cr6+, As3+, residual chlorine and organics in drinking water. Micro-organisms growth and reproduction can be inhibited and eliminated.
   Our 2-stage shower filter adds Granular Activated Coconut Carbon filter media to reduce synthetic chemicals in the water. The coconut Granular Activated Carbon is a superior grade of carbon and is most effective at adsorbing chemical contaminants. The addition of coconut based carbon to the shower filter increases the ability of the shower filter to provide complete protection and comprehensive contaminant removal.

The B-BIO-B shower filter features:
1.Removes up to 95% of chlorine in water.
2.No backwashing needed.
3.Replaceable cartridge.
4.Lasts 9-12 months for a family of four or 15-20,000 gallons of usage.
5.Accepts a variety of low showerheads (2.5 gpm) or available with a deluxe polished chrome showerhead which uses only 2.0 gallons per minute at 50 psi and provides an invigorating conical spray.
